Zyban - The Anti Smoking Pill

Generic Zyban is anti-smoking drug. It helps the smokers in giving up the unhealthy habit of smoking. Bupropion is its active constituent that treats the withdrawal symptoms of smoking and helps the person to stay away from it. After the intake of this medication the urge of the smoking is reduced.

Dosage
The prescribed dose of generic Zyban is 150 mg. It is taken twice in a day. This is the initial dose for about a week. This is because as it helps your body to get accustomed with this medication dose. In the next stage, the dosage of generic Zyban is increased to 300 mg twice in a day.
You can take it before or after the food. It is recommended to take this medication with water as it helps bupropion to dissolve quickly and show the effect. Please don’t increase the dosage as more than 600 mg in a day because it would be very hazardous to the health. Regular intake of medication without missing the dose is recommended as it will help you to see the antismoking effect within the stipulated time.
Precautions
• If you have suffered with the seizures or have the family history of the seizures then please don’t take the generic Zyban as it triggers seizures.
• Elderly patients are recommended to consult the doctor and take his advice about the dosage of this medication.
• Pregnant women are advised to not take this medication as it harms the health of the fetus. Also, the breast feeding mothers must not take this medicine because it passes through the breast milk and harms the health of the baby.
• If you are suffering with the diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, kidney problems, blood pressure, central nervous system tumors, or liver disorders then please consult your family physician before starting the generic Zyban dose.
• Driving any vehicle or operating of machinery must be avoided soon after taking this medication.
Side effects
Side effects that occur commonly due to the intake of the generic Zyban are muscle or joint pain, nausea, constipation, vomiting, weight loss, excitement, headache, dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, uncontrollable shivering of a body parts, ever, perplexity, hallucination, irrational fears, itching, hoarseness, irrational fears, and rashes or blisters.
There are some serious side effects that are being noted due to the generic Zyban that includes chest pain, fast pulsation or irregular heartbeat, convulsions, difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs, and feeling of harming yourself (suicidal feeling). Please consult the doctor immediately if you notice any of these symptoms after taking this medication.
Warnings
• Caffeine intake must be lowered while taking the generic Zyban because it increases the chances of suffering with the seizures.
• Never take this medication in excess because it is very harmful for the health, it may affect your nervous system adversely.
• Children and adolescents are strictly prohibited from using the generic Zyban medication because still its effect is not checked in this group of patients.
• If you are taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) like isocarboxazid, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, pargyline, selegiline, furazolidone then please don’t take generic Zyban pills.
• Generic Zyban must not be taken by the people who have the family history of mental disorders or suicides. If at they want to use it then please consult the doctor before doing so.
